Thanks primarily to my Grandpa Bailey, I read a lot as a kid. He passed along
hundreds of books to me after he read them himself. I helped the Hardy Boys
solve all 106 (at the time) mysteries, rode the West with Zane Grey, followed Tom
Swift on his adventures in space and much more. But in sixth grade I discovered
fantasy novels when I read The Hobbit, by J. R. R. Tolkien and more modern Sci-Fi
with the then new Isaac Asimov novel, Foundation's Edge.
These days I generally read a book a month -- more if I travel a lot. While
a lot of what I read these days are books on business and photography, I try to
find the time to fit in a book that Grandpa might have read -- a book that creates
its own world. If you're looking for something new to read and you like
scifi/fantasy novels, perhaps you'll find something here!
I'm always looking for something new to read. If you have a book recommendation,
please let me know!
